Each Monday Sports.Peace.Love. brings you a new song to add to your workout playlists. Some songs will be geared towards high intensity workouts to help get your heart pounding with energetic beats and lyrics, while others have smooth sounds that will be great for a nice jog or during your cool down stretches. Music has the power to move the soul and energize the mind, so get your groove on the rhythm of these jams.

I recently visited San Francisco and loved every minute of it. This city is diverse and rich with a varitey of cultures, ethnicities, and art. In honor of this city that shows it’s love an acceptance for all of its people, I had to share some iconic San Francisco music.

Sly and the Family Stone was a rock, funk, and soul band from the mid-60′ until the early-80′s. The band consisted of a Sly Stone and some of his family members and friends. I imagine that the diversity of the band and their music is a direct reflection of the city of San Francisco during a highly evolving time period like the 60s, 70s. and 80s. Some of their most popular songs include: Family Affair, Stand, Dance to the Music, and I Want to Take You Higher.  Take a look at this live video performance and groove to the funky, hip, and cool sounds of the Sly and the Family Stone Music Melody.

My favorite parts of the video are the clothes, and the people dancing! Can you dig it?
